The 2019 Women’s March was Saturday in Washington, D.C., and the Ohio University College Democrats (OUCD) were some of the protestors who attended. Sister marches were held around the country, including one in Athens. While attendance numbers were down from the original march in 2017, organizers estimated around 100,000 people were at the D.C. march.

When Gov. John Kasich vetoed a budget provision that would make voting harder for out-of-state students, there was praise from Democrats across the state. The provision would have made it so anyone with an out-of-state drivers license who wished to register to vote must purchase an Ohio drivers license, which would have effectively been a poll tax.
