Ohio sells first cannabis-infused medical marijuana products

The first processed medical marijuana goods were sold in Ohio last week. Grow Ohio Pharmaceuticals, a licensed level one medical marijuana producer and cultivator, sent out tinctures to three dispensaries in the state: one in Wickliffe, one in Canton, and one in Coshocton. Tinctures are liquid extracts that combine cannabis and ethanol into an oil designed to be taken orally. …

Doctors are still making recommendations, while Ohio has missed its own deadline for dispensaries to be operational. Ohio has approved 56 locations as medical marijuana dispensaries, despite none being open yet. Athens City Council passed an ordinance Monday evening to rezone portions of the Uptown area to not require that business reserve parking spaces for patrons, but businesses can maintain current spaces for customers if they choose.
