All of the American presidential candidates (minus Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders) spoke at the AIPAC, or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, conference a few weeks ago, and it seems all of the candidates who attended were trying to gain any sort of favor they could from Israel and the Jewish-American community. “Israel is America’s greatest ally” was repeated a …

When scrolling through the news recently, I saw the headline “This Openly Gay Iranian Author is Seeking Asylum in Israel.”  After reading about the refugee crisis and the debate to increase asylum seekers at home in the U.S. and the EU, this story seemed particularly atypical when it comes to international stories. Payam Feili, the Iranian poet, is pending asylum …

In an all-too-unpredictable move to try and mobilize sympathetic sentiment for his presidency just days before the voting, incumbent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that a Palestinian state would not become a reality if he were re-elected to a fourth term. It’s an election promise that could easily walk back on, and the re-elected PM has since backed away from …

Israel continues to enlarge its sphere of influence just as it did in the past with Gaza, and now with the settlements in the West Bank. Israel has continually imposed economic regulations upon all trading within the Gaza strip. Just last year the BBC released a report that Egypt was trying to help the oil crisis occurring in Gaza. Egypt …

Some may scoff at this, but Black Friday is as wonderful as I had always been told. I’m not going to talk much about Black Friday, but I am going to tell a brief story which occurred in the parking lot of an outlet mall in Aurora, Ohio where my girlfriend and I were taking part in the shopping festivities. …

On his deathbed the brilliant philosopher Lord Bertrand Russell used his last moments to pen a statement about the Israel/Palestine conflict. What follows is a complete reproduction of that letter, which is dated Jan. 31, 1970. “The latest phase of the undeclared war in the Middle East is based upon a profound miscalculation. The bombing raids deep into Egyptian territory …
