Marianne Dodson is the 2017-2018 Managing Editor at The New Political, previously the State Editor. She is double majoring in journalism and political science with specializations in Islamic studies and Middle East and North Africa studies. She has previously worked as an intern for NBC affiliate WBIR-TV and has freelanced for the English language online news magazine the Moroccan Times. Athens City Council passed an ordinance Monday evening to rezone portions of the Uptown area to not require that business reserve parking spaces for patrons, but businesses can maintain current spaces for customers if they choose.
