Athens City Council passed an emergency ordinance to approve the replacement of a failed influent pump at the Athens Waste Water Treatment Plant during its Monday meeting. The Athens Waste Water Treatment plant was built in 1952 and is located at 557 E State St. The plant processes sewage and waste materials to remove the potential.
